Lenovo announced at MWC 2022 its Lenovo IdeaPad Flex 5 and Lenovo IdeaPad Flex 5i, new 2-in-1 hybrid notebooks that can be converted into a Tablet with a 14 or 16-inch 360° opening touchscreen up to 2.8K DCI-P3, built around an AMD or Intel Alder Lake processor with Iris Xe Max, SSD storage or Wi-Fi 6 and Thunderbolt 4 connectivity.

The new Lenovo IdeaPad Flex 5 version AMD is built around a processor that is not a recent Rembrandt, but a Lucienne APU (Accelerated Processing Unit) Quad Core Ryzen 3 5300U (2.6 GHz), Hexa Core Ryzen 5 5500U (2.1 GHz) or Octo Core Ryzen 7 5700U (1.8 GHz), all with integrated Radeon Vega graphics.

There's no option for a dedicated graphics card, but the heart of this hybrid notebook is also made up of 4/8/16 GB LPDDR4x 4266MHz soldered RAM and storage. SSD M.2 NVMe with 128/256/512/1TB capacity.

On the connectivity side, you'll find the following wireless modules Wi-Fi 6 ax (2×2), Bluetooth 5.1, HDMI 1.4b, headphone/microphone combo audio, 2 USB 3.2 (Gen1) and 1 USB 3.2 Type-C (Gen2) and a 4-in-1 card reader.

Expected to come in Storm Grey (dark silver), Cloud Grey (light silver) and Stone Blue (blue) designs, the Lenovo IdeaPad Flex 5 AMD version runs under Windows 11.

It features 2 Dolby Audio loudspeakers (2 x 2W), an HD/Full HD webcam with microphone and privacy shutter, and a backlit chiclet keyboard.

This 2-in-1 notebook stands out from the crowd because it can be into a Tablet thanks to its touch-screen multi-touch glossy 16/10ths 360° opening.

It is available in 14 inches with display Full HD+ IPS (1920×1200) 45% NTSC 300cd/m² for a brilliant 9-hour autonomy or IPS 2.2K (2240×1400) 100% sRGB 300cd/m² for a claimed autonomy of 8 hours.
This plastic version weighs in at 1.55Kg and dimensions to 313.1 x 224.9 x 17.8-.19.3 mm.

Publishing 16 inches with metal shell weighs 2.1 Kg for dimensions of 357.8 x 253.9 x 18.7-.20.8 mm.
It announces itself with slab Full HD+ IPS 45% NTS 300cd/m² for a rated autonomy of 8h30 or IPS 2.5K (2560×1600) 100% sRGB 400cd/m² for a claimed autonomy of 8 hours.
The 14" and 15" Lenovo IdeaPad Flex 5 AMD versions are scheduled for May starting at 549 euros and 699 euros respectively.
The Lenovo IdeaPad Flex 5i is designed for June 2022from 499 euros each in the 14 inches and 699 euros in 16 inches.

What sets it apart is its integrated processor Alder Lake and more specifically Intel Alder Lake-U either Pentium 8505 (5 cores, 1.2 GHz, 1P + 4E) with Intel UHD graphics, or Core i3-1215U (6 cores, 1.2 GHz, 2P + 4E), or Core i5-1235U (10 cores, 1.3 GHz, 2P + 8E) i.e. Core i7-1255U (10 cores, 1.7 GHz, 2P + 8E), the latter with integrated graphics solution Iris Xe.

As an option, it can be backed up by a dedicated graphics card. Intel Iris Xe Max.
With the Lenovo IdeaPad Flex 5i, the USB-C is also Thunderbolt 4.

The 14-inch edition is also available in plastic, which weighs 1.55 Kg and measures 313.1 x 224.9 x 17.8-.19.3 mm and with metal shell from 1.5 Kg and 313.1 x 224.9 x 17.4-18.9 mm.

The 14-inch 16:9 screen options are as follows: Full HD+ IPS 45% NTSC 300cd/m² for a 9-hour autonomy, IPS 2.2K 100% sRGB 300cd/m² for a claimed autonomy of 8 hours. OLED 2.8K (2880×1800) 400cd/m² (2,880×1,800) 100% DCI-P3 for a claimed autonomy of 6 hours.
The 16-inch Lenovo IdeaPad Flex 5i weighs it down 2.1 Kg for dimensions of 357.8 x 253.9 x 18.7-.20.8 mm. Screen options (and autonomy) are similar to those of the AMD version.
