A versatile black notebook PC designed for creating and playing, theAcer Nitro 5 AN515-55-58C6 15-inch IPS Full HD anti-glare display with 144Hz frequency for enhanced gaming fluidity. This creative gamer laptop is powered by a high-performance Quad Core i5 Intel Comet Lake-H processor and an NVIDIA Ampere GeForce RTX 3050 ray tracing graphics card capable of running a wide range of games and accelerating processing. A backlit keyboard and Wi-Fi ax and USB-C connectivity are also at the heart of this gamer- and creative-oriented notebook running Windows 11.
Acer Nitro 5 AN515-55-58C6 is currently available sold by Acer France and meeting few competitors in its class where it is one of the few to run under Windows 11, but meets competitors offering a more recent/performing processor.
If this Acer Nitro 5 AN515-55-58C6 does not meet all your criteria, you will find on our guide Gamer laptop other configurations to play with a similar budget. With the same budget, choose the model with the most powerful graphics card, as it will have the most impact on performance.
Cooled by 2 fans, including 1 4th-generation AeroBlade 3D, heat pipes and air outlets, this versatile notebook sports a gamer look with its black design, angular lines and red accents.
The connectivity built into this gamer laptop is good, including 1 USB-C, a useful HDMI video output to easily connect this computer to a TV or monitor for example, Wi-Fi ax wireless modules (more powerful and recent than Wi-Fi ac) and Bluetooth 5.0 for remote connections and communications, Ethernet and audio ports, and 3 USB 3.0 (USB 2.0 compatible) for transfers up to 10 times faster than USB 2.0 when USB 3.0 peripherals are connected.
Of course, the keys on the chiclet keyboard can be backlit, making them easier to distinguish in limited ambient light.

Gamers will particularly appreciate the screen's 144Hz refresh rate, which enhances fluidity in games compared with the standard 60Hz. Thanks to its 16:9 format and precise Full HD definition, the screen is also ideal for displaying videos and, more generally, high-definition content. Its IPS technology also ensures wide viewing angles, both horizontally and vertically. However, its colorimetry is average, inferior to that of more high-end IPS panels. Thanks to its anti-reflective coating, the screen is in any case more legible in bright environments (e.g. outdoors) than a glossy slab.
The Acer Nitro 5 AN515-55-58C6 is a versatile, high-performance 15-inch notebook with a creative and gaming focus.
Built around a Quad Core i5-10300H Intel Comet Lake-H processor and 8GB of RAM, this creator-oriented gamer laptop delivers good overall performance to satisfy a wide range of users.
In particular, the Core i5-10300H guarantees faster processing than a low-power Quad Core processor, with the difference being particularly noticeable in CPU-intensive areas taking advantage of multi-core processing, such as photo editing, video editing and 3D rendering.
What's more, the dedicated GeForce RTX 3050 graphics card accelerates processing in GPU-intensive software such as Sony Vegas or Adobe Photoshop/Premiere, which will be of great interest to designers.
The GeForce RTX 3050 ray tracing, with NVIDIA Ampere architecture, will also be of interest to gamers, as it is capable of running a number of games, albeit with some concessions to graphics-intensive opuses.
In practice, the GeForce RTX 3050 is automatically activated in real time by NVIDIA Optimus technology, depending on the task in hand.
Optimus gives maximum preference to the Intel UHD 630 solution integrated into the Quad Core i5, even though its performance is modest, since it is energy-efficient, which favors autonomy.
In this area, expect around 5 hours of battery operation with light use.
The GeForce RTX 3050 is in fact enabled by Optimus to perform graphics processing that is too heavy for the Intel UHD 630. With either of these graphics solutions, it is of course possible to view photos and videos.
SSD storage clearly enhances everyday responsiveness and fluidity compared with a simple hard disk. Thanks to the SSD, processing, starting/stopping and launching software/games are much quicker than with a hard disk, for example, and you can get to online game maps much more quickly.
It's worth remembering that an SSD is much faster than a hard disk, but also consumes less energy, is more robust and quieter.
At 512 GB, the SSD offers a capacity in line with the hard disk standard. However, if you need more space, you can of course call on an external storage unit. In this case, a USB-C/USB 3.0 device is an interesting option for fast transfers.
As for heating and noise, they are present when this versatile gaming- and creation-oriented notebook is pushed hard (e.g.: processing, games).
To contain temperatures, a ventilated support (so be sure to check the dimensions!).
